Discipline/Field: Short Story Fiction Based in: Los Angeles, CA

About:  Kamala Puligandla attended the MFA program at UC Riverside and writes autobiographical fiction and essays about her radical, queer, multi-ethnic world, and the questions she has about building a better future.

As a California Writing Resident, Kamala will be finding the end of a short story she plans to publish along with her first novel due out this Fall.

Project Title: “You Can Vibe Me on My Femme Phone” is a humorous and romantic short story set in the near-future, about a group of queer friends who are using a phone with a feminist operating system, called the FemmePhone, to help them live their values.
