About: Lina Abascal is a journalist whose writing has appeared in many of today’s edgiest publications, as well as in self-published zines/chapbooks. She is an MFA candidate at CSU Long Beach and the host of the Junior High Book Club in Los Angeles, where she curates selections from marginalized voices in literature.

Project Title: My Brief Stint in the Clickbait Mafia is a funny, dark satire on the industry of New Media. The novel focuses on the space for and meaning of “quality” writing in the internet era, the value of cool factor, and when a Person becomes A Brand.
